Filmed entirely on 9.5mm Pathé camera, Norman Gobey, a local bank clerk, captured the characters, events and community spirit of Burnham-on-Sea, a West Country seaside town.

Norman crafted his footage into mini-movies, which he narrated or accompanied with music, for the entertainment of others.
